On Wednesday, February 12, Supervisor Barber presented the 2025 State of the Town Address, with a PowerPoint presentation, that highlighted the Town’s progressive agenda including:
- Comprehensive Plan Update. The anticipated adoption of the Comprehensive Plan Update that will be a guide and blueprint for recommendations on affordable housing options, protecting natural resources, promoting pedestrian safety, responding to climate change, and much more.
- Support for First Responders. The Town’s recent investments in a new ambulance station, fire training tower, and dispatch consoles, and upcoming steps to further promote public safety.
- Park Improvements. The Town’s continuing investments in its extensive park system, with a new planned park, playgrounds, pickleball courts, lighting for girls’ softball, new box lacrosse, security cameras and other measures.
- Pedestrian Safety. Taking actions to address speeding and making our streets safer for pedestrians and bicyclists, and transferring responsibility for sidewalk maintenance to the Highway Department.
