Hands Only CPR 
Only 2 Minutes to learn how to save a life. Hands only CPR is offered for public organizations and community events . This is a non-certified course.
American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR
This CPR course is designed for teachers, coaches , police and fire departments. This certified course is four(4) hours long and provides the students with a two(2) year certification from the American Heart Association .
BLS CPR for the Professional Rescuer
This course is open to healthcare professionals only and fulfills the NYS Dept. of Health requirements .

How to become certified
- Enroll and complete a NYS certified EMT Course
- In NYS age requirement ; the student must be 17 years old prior to the course completion date
- You must pass the NYS Practical Skills examination with 100% and the NYS Written exam with a 70% .
What to Expect
This course prepares the student to provide prehospital assessment and care to patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries.

The course length is typically between 150-190 hours

Course Offerings
Guilderland EMS offers the NYS EMT Course in the Spring and Fall
Tuition
The NYS EMT Original course fee is $ 950.00 / student
- If you are a member of an approved EMS/FD Agency and submit a membership form ( DOH-3312) the tuition is waived.
Lab Fee : $150.00 / student
- The lab fee is required for all students and can not be waived

Naloxone (Narcan) kits are available free of charge for community members or those at risk .
