Since December 2015, Peter G. Barber has served as the Town Supervisor. Peter previously served as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals, member of the Comprehensive Plan Committee, and Assistant Town Attorney. Peter was a founding member of a local law firm that represented municipalities in land use decisions, defended police officers, and handled personal injury litigation. He started his career as a confidential law clerk for the Hon. Con. G. Cholakis, US District Court Judge for the Northern District of New York, and was a lead trial attorney in the Department of Justice, Civil Division where he defended the Executive Office of the President, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and Department of Defense in complex sensitive litigation, and represented the interests of federal agencies nationwide. He has a B.A. in Mathematics from the University at Albany, and a J.D. from Albany Law School. Peter was born, raised, and attended public schools in Guilderland. Peter and his wife Cathy are the proud parents of two children who are journalists.
