Duncan’ Donuts announces “Cops On Top” event at CAPITAL REGION locations to benefit special olympics new york

 

Local law enforcement officers orchestrate rooftop sit-in to raise awareness for Special Olympics athletes 

 

 On Friday, August 17, from 6am-11am local law enforcement officials will stand on the rooftop of participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Capital Region while Special Olympics athletes collect donations at each location to help support the cost of their athletic training and future competitions.

 

Community members are invited to visit the participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants to support the officers, visit with Special Olympics athletes and their families, and make donations to Special Olympics New York. Dunkin’ Donuts will offer guests a coupon for a free doughnut as a thank you when guests make a monetary donation to the organization. 

 

The following Capital Region Dunkin’ Donuts locations will be participating: 

  • 1425 Washington Ave, Albany

  • 749 Hoosick Street, Troy

  • 1003 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham

  • 135 W. Campbell Road, Rotterdam

  • 1900 Curry Road, Schenectady

  • 2060 Western Ave, Guilderland

  • 97 Troy Road, East Greenbush

  • 92 Saratoga Street, Cohoes

  • Upper Broadway, Ft. Edward

  • 365 Dix Avenue, Queensbury

  • 509 State Route 67, Malta

  • 194 Church Ave, Ballston Spa

  • 17 Mohawk Ave, Scotia

  • 245 Saratoga Road, Glenville

 

All contributions generated from the campaign will support Special Olympics New York programs for Capital Region families. The initiative has generated more than $30,000 since its inception in 2015.

 

Special Olympics New York, is a not-for-profit organization working to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for children and adults with developmental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
