February 5, 2026

The continuing frigid weather has helped maintain sufficient snow cover for groomed cross-country ski trails at the golf course, and winter recreational opportunities in Town parks and open space.  I also thank the Highway Department’s new sidewalk team for their diligent removal of huge snow amounts on sidewalks on Western Avenue.  It takes several hours to clear the longer stretches and is very frustrating when DOT’s plows knock down snow piles onto the just cleared sidewalks.   More details about happenings in the Town are shared below.

Promotional and Swearing In Ceremony

Town News & Announcements

Yesterday, a large crowd attended the Police Department’s promotional and swearing-in ceremony.  Lieutenant Joseph Devoe was promoted to Captain and Officer Zachary Collen was promoted to Sergeant.  James Colonno was sworn-in as Police Officer before he attends training at the Police Academy at Zone 5.  These appointments were made official by an appreciative Town Board the night before.   I thank these officers for their service and their role in making the Town Police Department among the best in the State.
