Overview
The Tree Preservation Committee is a volunteer committee established by the Town Board. The committee will preserve, protect, and enhance the Town’s natural environment through tree protection, preservation and sustainable planting.
The planting of native trees and appropriate landscaping in sufficient amounts and proper locations helps promote the health and welfare of our community, and contributes to the environment’s biodiversity. These plantings also provide shade, improve air quality, and reduce noise and light infiltration, and help with stormwater management, prevent erosion and flooding, and provide critical protection and habitat for wildlife.
The goal of the Tree Preservation Committee is to prepare a Forestry Plan with standards and recommendations for land development, and guidance for residents for proper tree maintenance. This plan will be reviewed on an annual basis.
